Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine was originally incorporated in 1771 as part of Winthrop. Twenty years later residents voted almost unanimously to separate from Winthrop, and Readfield became incorporated on March 11, 1791. CARR, Benjamin U.S. Census Winthrop 1-5-4-0-0

Benjamin Carr, Sr. settled lot#29 in East Readfield about 1785. He lived in the section of Readfield that later became Manchester. On the 1816 taxpayers list he was listed as owning 88acres, a house and barn. His property bordered that of John Hubbard - who lived atop Monk's Hill. His wife may have been Abigail Prescott, daughter of Jedediah Prescott.

Benjamin Carr, Jr. m. Eunice C. Lane. daughter of James Lane. He died 6/24/1838 age 50yrs and Eunice died 6/24/1870 age 79years. Both are buried in Case Cemetery, East Readfield. Their children:
