HUTCHINSON, Henry ~ 1790 U.S. Census 1-0-0

Henry Hutchinson's (1743-1824) last name is spelled "Huccosen" on the 1790 Census and he is living alone, a neighbor to Robert Waugh whose residence was on Tallwood Drive off South Road and Robert Page and Henry Wyman whose residences was near Waugh's on the South Road.

Henry's land was likely the 200 acre lot #218, which his brother Joseph came by and sold off in five parcels between 1803 and 1821. I have not found documentation of how Joseph acquired the land in Kennebec County deeds so likely took place before 1799 when still Lincoln County. The transactions Joseph Hutchinson conveyed were:
1) 1803, 33 acres to Beniah Whittier, residence on North Road;
2) 1813, 50 acres to his son Joseph, Jr, residence on Hutchins (later Luce) Road;
3) 1815, 12 acres to Samuel Greeley residence on South Road;
4) 1821, 33 acres to Beniah Whittier, residence on North Road;
5) 1821, 70 acres to John Neal, residence on North Road.

Henry does not appear on the 1800 U.S. Census so he may have died by then. Some ancestry family trees  give Henry's date of death as Sept. 4, 1824 in New Sharon, ME, the same as John Hutchings. Did the two brothers die on the same day or did confusion occur when the dates of death were transcribed? Anyone with info to clarify please share via Email: crossings4u@gmail.com
