Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine was originally incorporated in 1771 as part of Winthrop. Twenty years later residents voted almost unanimously to separate from Winthrop, and Readfield became incorporated on March 11, 1791. LUCE, Attsett

Attsett Luce homestead on Sturtevant Hill Road.
Attsett Luce was the son of Shubael and Mary Attsett Luce. He was born 23 November 1794 in Readfield died 12 March 1865 in Readfield. He married Thankful (Abigail) Rowell at of Livermore, Androscoggin, Maine, in 1823.
